Participants: Participants in this program can vary widely in age and skill level.
- They are interested in a casual exposure to ballet or other dance styles.
- They are interested in a physically active program with a purpose.
- They want to experience the art in a gentle way.
For the younger students this might be their first exposure to dance. For the older students this could be a part of a general exercise program. There may be opportunities for these students to perform on stage. There are three distinct areas in the Recreational Program determined largely by age.
Children: Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Youth: 3rd grade through 10th grade. Adult: 11th grade through adult with no upper age limit.
Curriculum: The training follows the traditional dance curriculum based on the teaching of high quality dance technique, for a variety of dance styles. We do not offer combination classes. The teaching and content will be age appropriate. Training will advance at a slower pace than the intensive program. This program provides basic exposure to the world of dance.
